A Creative Touch was set up by
Gayle Sutherland in 2003 to enable her to focus on the work she most enjoys and feels motivated by. As Director, she is likely to be your main contact.
Gayle has worked for over twenty years in the cultural sector, originally for independent arts organisations but quickly moving to project initiation and strategic planning in the arts in local authorities. Following an enjoyable period leading cross authority service re-design and improvement planning for a district council she returned her focus to the cultural sector by developing the cultural strategy for North Yorkshire and setting up A Creative Touch.
She is passionate about the value, and enjoyment, of good organisational structures and effective planning and evaluation processes - and understands how this can co-exist with innovative creative practice. She has spoken at the British Quality Foundation and other national conferences on implementing change in organisations. Gayle has recently been awarded a learning bursary to explore innovative uses of digital communication tool, supported by one of Europe's foremost experts on digital media
Ewan McIntosh of
NoTosh.com
When appropriate Gayle works in partnership with a network of highly experienced consultants and practitioners, to ensure the right expertise for each contract. Recently this has included architect
Christoph Oschatz, researcher
Louise Comerford Boyes of University of Bradford, cultural programmer
Sally Lockey and marketing consultant
Alison Lister.
